The Opportunity
Terapeak did not yet have a dedicated QA function when I joined. I became the first QA person and established the practical processes needed to make production releases more controlled and repeatable.
What I Built
- Created the QA process and defined the release-testing expectations for production changes.
- Established a rule that no change could be deployed without testing.
- Created release notes so stakeholders had a clear record of what changed in each deployment.
- Owned the weekly production deployment process.
Release Outcome
The team moved to a weekly release cadence with quality checks built into the delivery process. Releases became a planned routine rather than an unstructured handoff at the end of development.
